SensAble Solutions for Dental Restorations, Medical Modeling, Simulation & RoboticsDental Restorations Medical Modeling Simulation & Robotics: Off-the-Shelf Solutions and Custom Software & Devices
 | The First Dental CAD/CAM Solution for Partials AND Crown and Bridge. The SensAble™ Dental Lab System provides an integrated solution to scan, design and fabricate common dental restorations. It is the first dental CAD/CAM system to support the production process for partial frameworks, as well as full contour crown and bridge, including pressables -- Press over Metal, Press over Zirconia, and monolithic ceramic -- Porcelain Fused Metal, and full metal. | The FreeForm systems are touch-enabled modeling systems that enable you to create complex, organic shapes faster and easier than with traditional CAD systems. The systems include a PHANTOM® force-feedback device, providing you with true 3D navigation and the ability to use your sense of touch to model quickly and accurately with virtual clay. This natural and direct way of working makes the FreeForm systems easy to learn, and users typically become productive within a few days. You can create original 3D models or use the systems with STL data from scanners or existing medical and dental software. CT/MRI scans that have been converted to STL data can also be used. Files can be exported for Rapid Prototyping (RP) or milling, and CAD/CAM‡.

SensAble offers both off-the-shelf solutions and custom software and devices for medical and dental simulation and robotics. Off-the-shelf Solutions SensAble has been a quality manufacturer of PHANTOM haptic (force-feedback) devices since 1993, and offers the broadest range of haptic devices and the OpenHaptics toolkit for adding the sense of touch and true 3D navigation to medical and dental applications such as surgical simulations and training, pre-operative planning, and robotically-controlled medical procedures. Simulations that integrate the sense of touch provide a compelling user experience and more realistic training for medical and dental procedures where touch is critical, such as bone drilling and administering a spinal injection for epidural anesthesia. Different models in the PHANTOM product line meet varying needs. The Premium models are high-precision instruments and, within the PHANTOM product line, provide the largest workspaces and highest forces, and some offer 6DOF (6 degrees of freedom) output capabilities. The PHANTOM Desktop and PHANTOM Omni devices offer affordable desktop solutions. Of the two devices, the PHANTOM Desktop delivers higher fidelity, stronger forces, and lower friction, while the PHANTOM Omni is our lowest-priced haptic device. The OpenHaptics toolkit enables developers to add haptics and true 3D navigation to a broad range of applications. The toolkit is patterned after the OpenGL® API, making it familiar to graphics programmers and facilitating integration with new or existing OpenGL applications. This haptics toolkit handles complex calculations, provides low-level device control for advanced developers, and supports polygonal objects, material properties, and force effects. The OpenHaptics toolkit supports a range of PHANTOM devices from the low-cost PHANTOM Omni device to the larger PHANTOM Premium devices. Photo courtesy of Medic Vision
